Florentine Villa
In Lyon, time takes flight.
Perched on Fourvière hill, Villa Florentine has overlooked the city for centuries. From its lofty heights, the pace of life slows and time regains its proper measure.
A former convent turned hospitality house, Villa Florentine is about to enter a new era. A renaissance faithful to its deep-rooted identity: monastic by heritage, Florentine in spirit, Lyonnais in essence.
Built in the 17th century, following the arrival of Italian artists and merchants in Lyon after the marriage of Henry IV and Marie de Medici, the Villa Florentine was first a convent and then a school. This unique history has shaped a place of tranquility, learning, and hospitality, open to the city and now iconic.

The rebirth of a Lyon icon
Undergoing a complete renovation led by interior designer and art curator Joséphine Fossey, Villa Florentine has been entirely reinterpreted with absolute respect for its original structure and listed spaces. A place that is both mythical and mystical, it has been transformed into a destination for gastronomy and well-being, designed as much for the pleasure of the senses as for the long term.
An ideal starting point for exploring Lyon, Villa Florentine stands out as a hub of culture and refinement: a familiar yet sublime destination and a living space open to the people of Lyon, designed for lingering, gathering, and experiencing the city in a different way.
